Anyone who knows me is well aware of my love for matcha. There is something about matcha that is so light and refreshing. It feels like a treat but with a variety of health benefits such as boosting cognitive function and providing sustained energy. High in antioxidants such as chlorophyll and l-theanine, it is an excellent choice for a drink. I recommend using almond milk as it allows the matcha flavor to shine through as opposed to cow’s milk.
Ingredients:
1.5 tsp ceremonial grade matcha (or 2 for stronger flavor)
2 oz water or ¼ cup
2tsp honey
1 cup vanilla unsweetened Almond Malk
Ice cubes Tavolo
Instructions:
Heat 2 oz of water to 170°F.
Sift 1 tsp matcha into a bowl (chawan).
Pour hot water into bowl and whisk in a w-motion for about 20 seconds.
Immediately add 1 tsp honey (to taste) to the matcha and swirl with spoon to combine. If your almond milk does not contain vanilla, add ¼ tsp of vanilla extract.
Grab your favorite latte cup and add ice cubes.
Pour the matcha into the cup and add 1 cup of almond milk.
Mix with a glass straw and enjoy!
